JC Tiuseco wins Survivor Philippines
A few nights before the finale I was sure JC will win. I think he played fair and kept his word most of the time. Sure he betrayed some people but he only did it because he already built an alliance with people he thinks he can trust. Turned out some of them wasn’t trustworthy at all. I wouldn’t actually call it betrayal but rather intelligent strategy.
JC got a whopping 3 million pesos tax free which most of it will be given to his parents to help the family business and the remaining for his future, according to him.
All Castaways were also there and most of them looked a lot different from how they look during their stay in the island. JC for instance is back to his younger and fresher self and was able get out of that Manny Pacquiao look. Rob looked almost the same though.
Some thoughts about the finale.
The announcement of the winner took 3 gaps before the winner’s name is finally revealed. Is this really how Philippine TV works? As long as they can delay it they will just for the sake of having cliff hangers? That was just annoying! Why can’t we be direct to the point and do it like how Survivor (US) does? During their finale they will immediately announce the winner and interviews will be done afterwards. Reunion will follow right after the announcement.
Honestly, I don’t watch this show religiously as most of the time (3 times a week) 
no challenges were shown. Sure they should air how the castaways strategize but it’s too much. It’s like watching Pinoy Big Brother with housemates living in an island instead of the Big Brother house.
But anyway, the first season is finished and a well-deserved castaway has won and I think there should be a second season. I just hope they’ll have it scheduled once a week or maybe twice a week and not daily. There are only a few shows that can fit that daily primetime schedule and Survivor is not one of them. Kudos to GMA 7 for a successful first season and I hope you hear me out. Once or twice a week is enough, don’t create another Pinoy Big Brother please, I’m begging you.
And to that guy who tried very hard to be the Pinoy Jonny Fairplay, sorry dude you’re just not evil enough. You are evil but Mr. Fairplay is unbeatable. Maybe next time, Marlon.
