Pacquiao Made History – Wins Over Cotto By TKO
Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao made history today as he stole the Welterweight title from Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Cotto was knocked down twice, rounds 2 and 4, and wasn’t able to turn the game to his advantage. Pacquiao on the other hand adjusted well with Cotto’s strategies and didn’t leave the smile he had ever since he entered the ring.
Pacquiao is the only boxer in the world that holds 7 titles; Flyweight, Super Bantamweight, Featherweight, Super Featherweight, Lightweight, Light Welterweight, and today Welterweight.
Cotto exits the MGM Grand beaten, batterred and former Welterweight champ but with high respects to Pacquiao. He congratulated his opponent right after the referee stops the fight.
Ramiel Malubay sang the US National Anthem while La Divas (composed of Jonalyn Viray and two other singers) sang the Philippine National Anthem.
