From the start it was clear that Manny Pacquiao owned this fight. He started very early in throwing punches and that is a surprise as he usually don’t do that – his past fights being proof.
Clottey kept his hands over his face and his coach even told him to “throw some punches, we’re losing every damn round!”. I’m not a boxing fan but I do catch every Pacquiao fight and this one made me nervous because Clottey is huge and strong, but after seeing the first 2 rounds I got bored. I laughed hard though upon seeing that FPJ “pompyang” move by Manny, he was clearly asking Clottey to fight. I watched for the sake of watching expecting Manny to win and he did. As one of my Twitter friends said, “This is what we call an ‘empty victory’, wala kang pwedeng ipagmayabang dahil wala kang naovercome”, and I agree (a little) bit with him. This WAS an exciting fight because we know what Clottey is capable of doing but after a few rounds the excitement fades away.
